Alexia Roberts JD ’25
Alexia Roberts JD ’25 is the recipient of the 2025 Andrew L. Kaufman Pro Bono Award. Contributing over 3,000 pro bono hours during her time in law school, Roberts has exemplified effective client-centered service, empathetic leadership, and a commitment to the pursuit of justice. Roberts is the outgoing president of Harvard Defenders, a student practice organization represents low-income people in Massachusetts pro bono in criminal show-cause hearings.

Bulelani Jili PhD '25
Graduating with a PhD in African and African American studies, Bulelani’s current project looks into the proliferation of Chinese surveillance technologies in East Africa. Bulelani is also interested in African voices and agency, specificially how would African stakeholders understand their relationship with both Chinese companies and their government.

Ena Walker BA '25
2023 HABA Intern Ena Walker BA '25 and her journey to graduation are distinguished by courage and commitment. What began as a dream at the renowned historically Black college and university (HBCU) Howard University changed due to unforeseen financial challenges. She strategically pivoted to continue her studies at Montgomery College, a community college, before transferring to the University of Maryland, College Park. Propelled by purpose, grounded in grit, and sustained by strength, she navigated every twist with determination and grace, graduating debt-free.
As a 2023 HABA intern at EdTrust, she used her communication skills to amplify policies and practices that dismantle racial and economic barriers embedded in the US education system. She graduates with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and is poised to continue advancing positive societal change - one message, one story, one connection at a time.

Gregory Cunningham PhD '25
On the cutting edge of the quantum computing revolution Cunningham’s research focuses on using nonlinear circuit elements to bring the control electronics from room temperature closer to the low temperature environment of the qubit, making it easier to address latency and heat loads while scaling up computational capabilities.

Francis Arthur-Holmes MPH ’25
Francis Arthur-Holmes MPH ’25 grew up around the mining industry in Ghana and saw many of its inherent risks and dangers. Following his graduation with a degree in occupational and environmental health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, his mission is to improve the health and safety of miners in his native country and worldwide.

Jowan Watson MD '25
Watson has worked to change the narrative by creating a first-of-its-kind residency training curriculum in sports psychiatry so future doctors can better help athletes in similar situations.
That work exemplifies Watson’s interest in helping patients navigate mental health and deal with the stressors in their lives — which in turn represents one aspect of his lifelong determination to help others.

Justin Flynn MPA '25
Justin Flynn MPA '25 is driven to public service through policies that are shaped by people. As the strategy and content co-chair for the 2025 Black Policy Conference, he helped shape critical conversations on freedom, equity, and politics. Shadowing the newly elected Durham, NC Mayor Leonardo Williams gave Flynn firsthand insight into the human side of governance—an experience that affirmed his belief in the power of connection between leaders and the communities they serve.

Nithya Ramesh DMSc '25
Nithya Ramesh DMSc '25 spent her time at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine immersed in projects that advance equitable access to dental care. Ramesh was involved in a World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa (WHO AFRO) project to establish mOral Health, an online training program for community health workers in Kenya that addresses critical oral health challenges worsened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sean Wynn JD '25
Sean Wynn’s favorite motto is “lift as you climb.” For the past three years while pursuing his degree at Harvard Law School, Wynn ’25 has used the law and his passion for helping to lift others every chance he gets. Wynn has devoted his law school summers to rigorous legal work and his campus time outside of class to representing clients unable to afford lawyers through Harvard Defenders, building community among Black students at the school, encouraging prospective students to attend Harvard, and recognizing support staff at the school’s annual awards dinner. He was recently awarded the Frank S. Righeimer Jr. Student Prize for Citizenship that recognizes a student’s exceptional citizenship in the school community.

Sukhmani Kaur JD '25
Sukhmani Kaur is inspired by her Sikh religion to help others connect, create community, and fight injustice. Kaur’s longtime interest in the law was informed by a deep sense of justice, inspired by the experiences of her parents who survived the Sikh massacres in India in 1984, her commitment to the Sikh faith, and her own life growing up in post-apartheid South Africa.

Sufiya Hassan DMD' 25
Sufiya Hassan, DMD25, has always been guided by a strong sense of purpose and a deep commitment to serving others. That drive shaped her journey through dental school, inspiring her to create meaningful change within her community. She came to see dentistry not only as a profession she enjoyed, but also as a powerful way to serve underserved communities often overlooked in the healthcare system. While at HSDM, Hassan was active in many of the school’s organizations and initiatives, serving as a student ambassador in HSDM’s Bridge to Dental School Program, an initiative aimed at helping pre-dental students navigate the process of applying to dental school.

Zeenith Ebrahim DrPH ’25
Zeenith Ebrahim DrPH ’25 launched Jamii Life in South Africa to increase access to affordable home care and create jobs. Ebrahim spent her DrPH program honing the skills to grow her social venture Jamii Life, a South Africa-based home health care company that’s empowering care workers with tools and training to improve the quality of home-based care and harnessing technology to help keep its services accessible and affordable. She left a successful corporate career seven years ago to explore public health entrepreneurship and completed her doctoral studies committed to making a difference.
